Helping Mothers Half a World Away

Are you searching for something unique and special to do for Mom this Mother's Day?

Gospel for Asia has set a goal of getting 250 children sponsored through their Bridge of Hope centers before Mother's Day.   Maybe you'd like to help them reach that goal.

This Mother's Day you could sponsor a child in your Mom's honor, giving her something she can treasure throughout the year but also helping a mother halfway around the world who is facing difficulties and challenges very different from our own.

Sponsoring a child through Gospel for Asia helps not only the child but also the family.

Meet Gayana, widowed at twenty, she was left to care for her young son, Vikranta.  She had no job and no way to provide for her family.  Her in-laws no longer welcomed her in their home and her own parents were too elderly to help.  She moved in with a sister and became so distressed that she stopped eating and sank into a deep depression.

Gayana desperately wanted a better life for her son but she didn't know what to do.  Fortunately, a neighbor told her about a nearby Gospel for Asia Bridge of Hope center.  Gayana visited the center and shared her story with the director.  To Gayana’s great joy and relief, Vikranta was enrolled in Bridge of Hope immediately.

Bridge of Hope provided Vikranta with everything he needed to attend and thrive at school.  Although Gayana found work as a daily wage laborer, she earns only about a dollar a day. Without Bridge of Hope, she would never have been able to provide her son with the education he is receiving.

Gayana is happy and grateful that her son has been given a chance—a chance that many Asian mothers only dream of their children having.

For just $35 a month, you can provide a mother with the hope she is longing for. Her child will receive a daily nutritious meal, the message of Jesus’ love, a quality education, and the opportunity to dream big for a better life.  Learn more by clicking here
