A Psalm Promise

My blog assignment this month from Gospel for Asia is to blog about whatever is laid on my heart.

One of my favorite daily devotionals is Charles Spurgeon's Morning and Evening.  The scripture verse from my July 13 evening reading really struck a cord with me...particularly the last part of it.  It is Psalm 56:9: "When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know, FOR GOD IS FOR ME."

We all have those moments when it seems like the world is against us.  When we are surrounded by people and yet feel all alone.  When it feels like no one else can possibly know or understand the struggles we are facing.  But just think...God promises that whether we are in our highest moments of achievement or in our deepest valley of despair that HE IS FOR US.  He is our champion.  He has a good and perfect plan for each of our lives and He wants to help us achieve it.  GOD IS FOR US!

I think about the men, women and children of Asia who Gospel for Asia serves.  For all of them who feel like the world is against them...that it is hopeless...that they can never rise above their current circumstances...I am so grateful that there is a ministry like GFA that will serve, minister and bring them the Good News of Jesus Christ and his saving love.  To let them know that GOD IS FOR THEM!

I don't blog about Gospel for Asia because I think you should support them too.  True, I think they are a ministry of integrity and one worth telling you about.  And if you choose to research them and support them than that's fantastic.  But GFA is just one of thousands of worthwhile charities that work to help those in need...physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Perhaps you'll read my blogs about GFA and decide that you want to seek out a ministry or charity that you want to support based on the type of work they do, who they are supporting and where they are working.

Knowing that God is for you and me...consider being there for someone else.  We are God's hands and feet.  Giving makes us richer in so many ways.
